Showcase:LIVE at The Queen of Hoxton

Last week I went down to Showcase:LIVE's 4th Birthday at The Queen of Hoxton where there were some amazing up and coming artists playing. Music is a massive passion of mine, so getting to combine it with photography, another of my loves, was an ideal situation for me!

The singers really were in a league of their own. First up was Jay Norton - I had seen one of his videos the week before and I was so excited to go and see him after it. As well as being a fantastic songwriter, his voice is beautiful. The video I'd seen was 'My Ex' - here is is for you to see (warning - explicit lyrics!) :

If you'd like to see more of him you can check out his YouTube channel by clicking right here. Here are a few photos of him performing on the night:

Next was Benjamin Hague. He was harder to get photos of as he jumps around all over the place! Another really interesting voice with a bit of rawness to it. Here is is performing:

And here are some photos I took on the night. If you'd like to see more of his work click here

Jody Brock was the next artist to perform. He is straight out of BRIT School and has a really soulful voice and sings with a lot of emotion. Here is a video of his - to find more of his work click here.

Some photos I took of him on the night:

Last we saw Charlie Browne, not forgetting the 'e'! He has a commercial sound and look, and I'm sure he's a hit with many a lady! Here he is singing - to find more of his work click here.

Some pics I took of him on the night:

Keep your ear to the ground - I'm sure these boys are going to make it far. Check out the Showcase:LIVE Facebook page to keep up to date on their events - it's a fabulous evening out.

Baby Elsa

A few weeks earlier I had been round taking photos of Elsa inside her Mummys tummy, and now here she was, 8 days old and so adorably cute! She slept for the entire time I was there and it didn't seem to bother her being put on different things and in different positions - an angel in disguise! Her big brother and sister seemed so excited by her arrival and were bending over backwards to do whatever they could to help! Here are some shots from the day:

Linda's Surprise Party

Colin, Lindas husband had got in touch with me just before her birthday as he was holding a surprise party for her. He had invited a group of her friends and family along to the West Lodge Park Hotel for dinner and told them to dress up. While everyone was looking glam why not get photos of the occasion!? Linda looked absolutely blown away, it was a pleasure to witness it. I hope I have someone who loves me as much as Colin clearly does Linda to do something equally lovely one day. Here are some snaps from the night:

Baby Roma

Roma was 12 days old when I went to visit her and her family at their home. She was so cute, sleeping all the time and kept putting her fists up like her daddy, a boxer! As good as gold... I hope you like your pics, here are a few faves:

Rock The Dress - Kylie

Kylie and Aj had got married last September. As soon as her wedding was over she knew she wanted another chance to wear the dress for some photos. She was a brilliant sport, willing to do whatever it meant for a nice photo to be the end result. It was a freezing cold day, she was so so brave, even I was cold and I was layered up! We took the photos at Whitstable Castle and then Whitstable Beach, much to the entertainment of the onlooking crowds. It certainly brighten up a blustery Saturday afternoon on the South East coast! There were so many lovely photos... here are some of my personal favourites:
